Although she doesn't officially crawl, she can get anywhere in the apartment. She scoots on her bum, rolls across the floor, crawls backwards, and pulls herself to standing. She is beginning to surprise me with what she can do and where she can go.
Jane's 9 month stats:
16 lbs 9 oz27 inches tall
Apparently she is too small. She grows, just slower than other kids are growing at her age. Her growth is not following the usual curve. She started life around the 45th percentile and has dropped percentiles until this checkup around the 13th percentile. I told the pediatrician how much she eats (3-4 meals of about 4 ounces of fruits, veggies, and some baby cereal, plus breastfeeding 5-6 times a day). He said that follows recommendations but to offer more and higher calorie foods and see if she'll take it. She still won't eat anything that has texture (no finger foods). Only the perfectly pureed variety of foods will be consumed. Still no teeth.
At Jane's 9 month checkup she was squirming and not allowing the doctor to get a good look...Not to mention, her SCREAMING because an unknown person is in the room with her being really nice and she is TERRIFIED. (Just to give her some credit, the last unknown person who acted really nice to her 20 minutes before gave her a booster flu shot...way to go Mommy...bad idea to do those at the same office visit.)
Pediatrician: Well, as far as I can tell she seems healthy... She won't. Stop. Moving.
Me: She had a super cold- sinus infection, ear infections, deep cough, and lung bronchiolitis last time we were in 1 1/2 weeks ago. Is she over it?P: Her lungs seem fine to me. Listen to that scream...
P: Have you seen any signs of stranger anxiety? It hits about now.
Me: (Duh.) Yeah, sometimes. She usually just wants me.
