Tiny fingers...

Tiny toes...

Isn't she just facinating? Luke and I could sit and look at her all day long, and we do.

After birth, Jane had gone from her 7 pounds 1 ounce on Tuesday to 6 pounds 7 ounces on Wednesday and then to 6 pounds 13 ounces by Friday. People always commented on dainty she is. We were often told that she is a beautiful newborn or that she already looks like a girl. Apparently she was growing too slowly, so we had to have more weight check appointments.

When Jane was 6 days old, Luke and I took her on our second family outing to the Boston MFA to their annual Art in Bloom festival. Throughout the museum some exhibits have floral arrangements next to them that represent the artwork. I really liked it, because it helps me to interpret or appreciate some art that I may not have noticed without the flowers.

Jane enjoyed the artwork too. We are starting her off early with a higher class of entertainment. No barbie princesses for our girl.

The floral arrangements were amazing. This one was my favorite.

It was a great outing for her in her sling. She just slept most of the time and other people in the museum treated her as precious as the artifacts there. (Borrowed pics from here.)

At Jane's one week doctor's appointment Jane was only 6 pounds 15 ounces. The doctor was worried that she still was not up to birth weight of 7 pounds 1 ounce.

I was feeling pressure to make sure she was fed and was a little stressed about breastfeeding her enough. I really didn't want to have to supplement with formula to get her weight up.

Here is a baby Jane video from the hospital. She was so little!

She is very cute. I'm surprised that your doctor was concerned about her not being up to birth weight at one week, just because my dr. gave us the time limit of two weeks...

Love that girl. I'm glad to know she's chunked up a bit since then.
